純粹真實的自我

In the opening, Iris (Kate Winslet) narrated「I have found almost everything ever written about love to be true. Shakespeare said, "Journeys end in lovers meeting." What an extraordinary thought. Personally, I have not experienced anything remotely close to that, but I am more than willing to believe Shakespeare had. I suppose I think about love more than anyone really should. I am constantly amazed by its sheer power to alter and define our lives. It was Shakespeare who also said "love is blind". Now that is something I know to be true. For some quite inexplicably, love fades; for others love is simply lost. But then of course love can also be found, even if just for the night. And then, there's another kind of love: the cruelest kind. The one that almost kills its victims. Its called unrequited love. Of that I am an expert. Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other. But what about the rest of us? What about our stories, those of us who fall in love alone? We are the victims of the one sided affair. We are the cursed of the loved ones. We are the unloved ones, the walking wounded. The handicapped without the advantage of a great parking space! Yes, you are looking at one such individual. And I have willingly loved that man for over three miserable years! The absolute worst years of my life! The worst Christmas', the worst Birthday's, New Years Eve's brought in by tears and valium. These years that I have been in love have been the darkest days of my life. All because I've been cursed by being in love with a man who does not and will not love me back. Oh god, just the sight of him! Heart pounding! Throat thickening! Absolutely can't swallow! All the usual symptoms. 」

這部片當中的四位男女主角背後各自有一段故事，導演很流暢的在劇中將每個人的故事帶出同時也進行著故事的主軸。當中有不少的台詞都很棒，很多Kate讀白的台詞都像小說中的句子一樣(真不虧是報社的人)。第一次看到這部片的預告片的時候就很想要看，不過那好像是去年的事情了。說到預告片，昨天電影正式開演前看了好多驚悚片的預告片，我一直無法理解，預告片不是通常都和正片的類型相近嗎?怎麼昨天播了一堆驚悚片?不過有一部看起來挺有趣的，是Sandra Bullack主演的電影「Premonition」(Official site)，有點類似有一部日本電影「預言」，也有點像「Final Destination」，不過我一向蠻愛看珊大姊的電影，有機會的話也要來看看這部戲，至少預告拍的還不錯。

講到預告，又可以回到這部戲的主題，Amanda(Cameron Diaz)是個電影預告剪接公司的老闆，是個女強人型的女生。片中有不少片段都出現在電影預告的方式來表達Amanda的心境，非常非常地爆笑，那個電影預告旁白的聲音實在是太妙了，忍不住要說：「他聲音實在很貝戈戈」。我超喜歡Amanda和Graham(Jude Law)這對，除了裘先生很帥之外，他們背後的故事也是我沒有預期到的，Sophie和Olivia實在太可愛，Amanda和Graham的對話也超爆笑。就拿他們初次相遇時的對話來說…

Amanda: You know Graham, I just broke up with someone and considering you just showed up and you're insanely good-looking and probably won't remember me anyway... I'm thinking we should have sex... If you want.
Graham: Is that a trick question?

他們的對話總是讓人充滿著驚奇，裘先生釣妹妹的招術也挺不錯的，全都是用反向問句。當Amada第一次到Graham家做客的時候，他們躺在Sophie和Olivia的Tent裡面，出現了一段讓我蠻佩服編劇的對話…

Amanda: Who cut out all of those beautiful stars?
Sophie: We did.
Olivia: The three musketeers.

至於是為什麼，我想看過電影的人應該會明白。我最怕這種對話了，會讓人想哭。後來Amanda要回美國的時候，穿著細跟高跟鞋在積雪的路上狂奔的畫面也讓我非常的佩服卡小姐，真是太厲害，含含說了一句：「真不虧是霹靂嬌娃啊!!」。一走進Rosehill Cottage看到裘先生，全場觀眾大笑，裘先生真是太...可愛了。(我也想給你秀秀~)

Iris和Miles這對，其實導演在他們兩人之間著墨並不深，我覺得主要是在探討著爛好人的愛情。「Because you're hoping you're wrong. And every time she does something that tells you she's no good, you ignore it. And every time she comes through and suprises you, she wins you over, and you lose that argument with yourself, that she's not for you.」這是Iris在Miles發現Maggie背叛她的時候說的話，其實也就是說給自己聽。這兩個人對於感情的執著，在旁人看起來是很不捨和傻氣的。(但這好像比較接近一般人的情況，after all， "Love is blind"。)

到了最後Iris終於看清了Jasper對她的溫柔不過是一種利用和滿足男人莫名地優越感，她下這這樣的結論。「It doesn't matter how many new haircuts you get, or gyms you join, or how many glasses of chardonnay you drink with your girlfriends... you still go to bed every night going over every detail and wonder what you did wrong or how you could have misunderstood. and how in the hell for that brief moment you could think that you were that happy. And sometimes you can even convince yourself that he'll see the light and show up at your door. And after all that, however long all that may be, you'll go somewhere new. and you'll meet people who make you feel worthwhile again. And little peices of your soul will finally come back. And all that fuzzy stuff, those years of your life that you wasted, that will eventually begin to fade. 」其實每個人都明白，但是不是自己看清了事實，任憑旁人如何勸說都是沒有辦法幫助的。

除了片中很多不錯的台詞之外，也見識到了好萊屋的豪宅，真是太了不起了。我只有玩模擬市民的時候才住得起這種房子。另外什麼是cottage我也見識到了，上上星期五的時候老師還講到一般countryside的房子可以分成四種類型「Villa」、「Bungalow」、「Cottage」、「Cabin」，我想Villa大家都懂，不過另外三種對我們就比較陌生了。老實說的話，我還蠻喜歡片中那棟 Rosehill Cottage，雖然不大，但一個人住剛剛好呢!
